Rudy Bruce Retires; Alan Jennings New President
The only president that the CBTU Long Island Chapter has ever known, Rudy Bruce, resigned his post on July 1, 2011. Bruce, who had been President for ten years, was extremely successful in a number of areas including charity endeavors and in the political arena. He also retired from his job with Nassau County and the CSEA on June 29.
Taking over for Bruce is Vice President Alan Jennings. Jennings has been Vice President of the CBTU Long Island Chapter since May 2005, and has been extremely active in community outreach for CBTU. He has an extensive background, including being involved in the CSEA from 1981 to 2007, including 17 years as Regional Director of the New York City Region 2. He also was President of Local 205, District Council 1707 from 1977-1981. He has a Bachelors Degree from Queens College in Education, and graduated in 1979.
